Mark Wong



Mark Wong is a Director of Duane Morris & Selvam in Singapore in the Corporate Group. His practice focuses on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, which includes advising on commercial contracts, joint ventures, private equity investments, corporate restructuring, SGX-ST listing rules, and construction and financing matters. He is listed in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2018 as a Recommended Lawyer for Projects & Energy (Local Firms) in Singapore. Mark has extensive experience handling cross-border transactions—including advising and representing major companies and business groups in Myanmar, China, France, Singapore and other countries in Europe, Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa—across such industries as manufacturing, natural resources, power, insurance, transportation, pharmaceuticals and real estate.

Prior to entering private practice, Mark was Counsel-in-Charge of one of the six teams at the International Chamber of Commerce Court of Arbitration Secretariat in Paris.

Mark speaks fluent English, Mandarin, French and Cantonese.

Mark is admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore and as an avocat of the Court of Appeal of Paris.

  • Advised a Sovereign Wealth Fund in its acquisition of a significant stake in a mixed property development project in Indonesia, and in the setting up of a strategic partnership for ongoing development.
  • Advised Singapore subsidiary of PRC oil and gas company PetroChina in the acquisition of a stake in terminal storage facilities in the Union of the Republic of Myanmar.
  • Advised PRC Sovereign Wealth Fund China Investment Corporation on its acquisition through block trade of a stake in a French satellite company listed on the Paris Stock Exchange.
  • Advised China Merchants on its acquisition of a stake in a French container terminal developer and operator, which operates container shipping terminals in China, Korea, France, Malta, Belgium, Morocco and the USA.
  • Advised Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production on its acquisition of oil and gas deposits in Kazakhstan.
