Satinder Pal Singh



Satinder Pal Singh is a Senior Associate in the firm’s dispute resolution practice. He handles a wide range of general and commercial litigation matters with a strong focus on construction disputes.

Satinder graduated from Queen Mary’s College, University of London in 2012 with a Bachelor of Law (Hons.) degree and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2012. Satinder was also awarded a distinction in Part B of the Singapore Bar Exams 2014 for Criminal Litigation Practice.

Representative Matters


  • Currently advising a local maintenance and building contractor in their claim against its former sub-contractor for breach of contract including causing asbestos contamination at a government owned property.
  • Currently advising a multinational beauty company in its claim against its former renovation contractors for overcharging and defective workmanship.
  • Represented the main contractors for an industrial waste project situated on Jurong Island, Singapore for a claim of S$ 155 million against the owner of the project. The claim was commenced under the Singapore’s Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act ("SOP Act") and is by far one of the largest claims brought under the SOP Act to-date.
  • Represented a specialist mechanical and electrical contractor in a claim commenced for the sum of S$11 million by a global IT major under the building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act ("SOP Act") involving a mixed development consisting of a hospital, a hotel and medical clinics in Singapore.
  • Represented a Korean construction major in a claim commenced by its subcontractor for the sum of S$5 million under the SOP Act involving a mixed development consisting of a condominium, shopping centre integrated with a bus interchange and the mass rapid transit in Singapore.
  • Advised a construction conglomerate in their claim against a multinational kitchen appliance maker following a product recall that led to the contractor sustaining loss and expense, including delay to the completion of the project.
  • Represented an owner of a good class bungalow in his claim against his former renovation contractor for overpayment and defective workmanship.
  • Advised a local subsidiary of a publicly listed Swiss conglomerate who was appointed to supply electronic components and junction boxes for an oil refinery located in Kuwait.
  • Represented a Korean construction major with regard to defects that occurred in a neighboring property during the piling phase of a condominium development.
  • Represented a Korean construction major to resist an injunction application for a call on two (2) performance bonds.
  • Represented a major Korean construction company with regard to it claim for an Extension of Time and resisting a claim for liquidated damages.
  • Represented a renowned architectural firm with regard to a claim brought by the condominium's MCST for defective design.

  • Currently representing a regional logistic and freight forwarding company who has been sued by a local competitor for having allegedly obtained confidential information and/or trade secrets by hiring its former employee.
  • Currently representing and advising a multinational beauty company in their investigation into the conduct of their former regional merchandising manager who may have conspired and colluded with third party vendors to award contracts that were grossly inflated.
  • Represented a regional logistics company in their action against a former employee who had set up a competitive business by diverting business opportunities and using trade secrets.
  • Represented a senior employee who had been sued by his former employer, a multinational recruitment solutions provider, for having downloaded confidential information and trade secrets belonging to the former employer during the course of and prior to leaving his employment.
  • Advised a senior employee on her rights at law and under the contract after her former employer, a regional healthcare company, had terminated her employment based on the provisions of the Singapore’s Retirement and Re-Employment Act.
  • Represented an individual in his claim against his former employment, a regional early childcare services provider, for salary arrears.
  • Represented the local subsidiary of a worldwide shipping line in their decision to terminate the employment of their chief financial officer following revelation of wrongful conduct. Assisted in the negotiating and the drafting of the severance package, which included cross-border tax obligations.
  • Represented a worldwide recruitment solutions provider to oil & gas, marine, construction, mining, power and trading industries with offices in the UK, Singapore, UAE, Kurdistan and Houston, who had been sued by its former regional director after the latter’s employment was terminated on the grounds of gross misconduct and incompetency.
